Two Murderers Released From Panhandle Prison By Mistake
October 18, 2013
Authorities are looking for two convicted murderers that were mistakenly released from a Florida Panhandle prison.
Charles Walker and Joseph Jenkins were released separately within the last month from the Franklin Correctional Institution based on forged court documents. The Florida Department of Law Enforcement was notified of the incident on Tuesday.
Both men were serving sentences for Orange County murders.
Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Charles Walker and Joseph Jenkins should call 911 immediately.
The Franklin Correctional Institution is in Carrabelle just outside Apalachicola, about 200 miles from Escambia County.

Well, I guess the anti-law enforcement “lettum all out,” screamers are really having an “organization” over this.
Iron bars do not a prison make — not when one careless clerk can free you.

This just has STUPID written all over it………..It can’t be as simple as receiving 1 document stating to release a MURDERER…OR TWO and thats it…just open the gate and let them out….sounds like a REAL problem in our prison system
Wow, Well, Doesn’t this make me feel real safe.
Can’t blame this one on the “shutdown”. Guess the DOC has no checks and balances system to catch this. If it happened a month ago they are not going to be found. New names and identities for these two. Its too easy in the electronics age.
