Robinson Files For Third Term On Escambia Commission

October 6, 2013

Incumbent Grover Robinson has pre-filed to run in 2014 for his third term as the District 4 representative on the Escambia County Commission.

Robinson, in a press release, said:

“I file again to start the election process. It has been a pleasure to serve the citizens of District 4. We have accomplished much since 2006 including reducing county taxes, improving county infrastructure, fighting for restoration from the Deepwater Horizon Oil Spill and building a better economic future for the county and its citizens.

“However, I am most excited that another term will allow me to not only continue these actions but also to serve in a statewide capacity as the President of the Florida Association of Counties. This office will provide me an opportunity to position Escambia County as a leadership community in Tallahassee and Washington DC.

“I look forward to serving the citizens of District 4 and Escambia County and I hope they will allow me the opportunity to serve them in these capacities.”

I e-mailed Robinson concerning the lack of a kids park on the West side of the county, i.e. Cerny and Blue Angel and he did not even bother to reply. I guess the only ones who get safe play grounds and community centers are the people living in the area of the new Wedgewood Community Center on Wagnor. This facility is huge, has a very large playground and is now exactly one year old. There was already an exisiting school at this location that could have been converted to a community center but instead a new one was built. Why are the children in this district more important than the one’s in my neighborhood which is Yorkshire Estates? Funny I asked this same question to Robinson and no reply at all. Needless to say I did not vote for him.

If this county wants to move forward they need to purge the local government of Grover, George and Gene!!!

Grover voted FOR the 4 cent gas tax. I talked to him at length about it before the vote. If William would like I will gladly send him the e-mails Mr. Robinson and I exchanged regarding this tax and North Escambia can publish them. Our back and forth banter might be interesting to some people. I certainly found it enlightening. I live in Mr. Robinson’s district. I sent an e-mail to all the commissioners when it was time for the vote on this tax. Mr. Robinson was the only one who responded.

Grover is on the wrong side of the 4H issue also. He is siding with IFAS whose tactics include threatning youth that speak in favor of Bayer cor visit with their elected officials about the tactics of IFAS.
Come over to the right side , Grover!

Don’t remember whether Grover did or didn’t vote for that 4 cent gas tax that comes into effect on January 1, 2014, but if he did, he needs to go. The windows of the busses this tax is supposed to support are tinted dark so that you, the gas buyer/taxpayer cant see how many people are NOT on these busses. Century, and Walnut hill don’t get bus service, but they get to pay that .04. The result of this is that most who live near Alabama will cross over and buy their gas there. I know I am.

And voted to raise gas 4 cents a gallon, starting in January, to pay for a bus system.
