One Injured In Semi Crash

October 20, 2013

The driver of a semi truck was seriously injured in an accident just north of Flomaton Saturday morning.

Just before 11 a.m., the driver lost control and ran off  Highway 113 about four miles north of Flomaton. The truck traveled  into a wooded area, destroying the semi truck in the process. The driver was trapped in the wreckage for a short period of time as several fire departments worked to free him. He was transported by Escambia County (FL) EMS to D.W. McMillan Hospital in Brewton and then transferred to mobile for further treatment.

The Flomaton, Pineview, Jay and Century fire stations reponded to the crash. Further details have not been released as the accident remains under investigation.

I would like to thank everyone who responded to my daddy’s accident and helped. Many people have volunteered, worked tirelessly for many hours to clean up the wreckage and get his truck and trailer removed from the woods. Anyone who knows my daddy, knows how much he would appreciate all of your help. Much of what was done to clean up and remove his truck was done out of the goodness of your hearts and many went over and beyond to help. I would also like to thank Mr. Morris who called my mama to let her know about the accident. Daddy is in Providence and is having tests run to determine what caused him to go uncontious. He’s doing well, just in a lot of pain. Thank you all for your prayers!
