Overnight Shooting Under Investigation

An overnight shooting at an Escambia County hotel is under investigation.
Deputies responded to the Red Roof Inn on Plantation Road just after 2 a.m. The victim, a 24-year old Deon Keith Harris, said that while he was smoking on his balcony he was approached by an unidentified male wearing a mask who shot him twice.
Harris was transported to a local hospital by Escambia County EMS. The Gun Crime Unit responded to the scene and the incident is currently under investigation.

Well from looking at his record im not surprised! cocaine sell, weapons charges, drugs, etc. and some as recent as a few months ago so we can all draw our own conclusions of what happened here…..it doesn’t take a genius to figure this one out!
@ 39.95 a night with free breakfast = a guarantee something like will happen. The entire cluster in this area has gone down hill over the last 5 years just about the time Steak & Ale closed. ( Unique concept different rooms/parlors that all smell like a old folks home). My suggestion is Look at the parking lot, drive around back, look at pool (not the water , the clientele) and common areas before you decide to stay the night at any hotel.
Great area for our mall inprovements……
our local hotel/motels have turned into crack/meth dens.
