Sneak Peek: Color Scheme Inside The New Ernest Ward Middle
September 18, 2013
There’s not even a foundation in place for the new Ernest Ward Middle School in Walnut Hill, but we have a sneak peek at the color scheme for the new school. The interior of the school will feature a variety of earth tone colors, the school colors of blue and gold. The building will have a light-colored aluminum roof.
The color scheme has been approved by a school staff committee, and the School Advisory Council signed off on the colors during a meeting Tuesday morning.

This would have been a good time to change school colors and the mascot to align with Northview’s. Probably would have built some school and community spirit once all the emotion died down. Sounds like input was given to school and school board officials but no buy in. What’s up with that?
@ Robert,
I think all buildings in our area must be constructed to a specific wind code (150 MPH), so I believe that the school can be used as a shelter – at least the new buildings could.
Very nicely put together.
Thanks go out to the School Advisory Council and school staff committee.
My recollection is of “school house green” being the standard color and that was not very inviting.
Does anyone know if this building is constructed to “shelter” standards so it could be used for emergency shelter during a hurricane?
An Awesome addition to the older buildings.
Wow This is better then the first one it’s like a upgrade I cant wait to move in to the new building!
Looks a bit like a hospital.
