No iron rock in Bluff Springs
Plenty of lightning
I used to live near there. There is massive amounts of iron rock in the ground in that area that attracts lightning real bad. One of my favorite things to do as a kid was sit in the car and face the field behind my house and watch it strike, sometimes it seemed to go from the ground up!
Sorry about your computer. We learned the hard way,we lost a computer and phone. We had to fight with !!!!!!! to get them to ground our phone line and just for extra protection any time we leave for the day we unplug computer. If we are home and it starts storming we unplug it. Like yesterday we saw how bad it was getting and unplugged it. When lighting was striking it was hitting pretty bad and then the phone went out as did the internet. Finally got both back this am.
Another reason to unplug your phone/computer during thunderstorms.
