I know I’m late to some of these comments. My hats off to Sara for her heart felt message to Allan, Carman, his twin baby sisters, their dad, and all of the family. But to the rest of idiots who commented this should have been about the sad loss of life that accrued, I should know I’m like a uncle to Anthony and Allan. I’m so close to the family its as though I have always been family. The unfortunate thing is this happened a I’m just now getting the information. I live far away and contact was loss for a while but I reestablish communication with my love ones to find this has happened. I too will miss you young Ant. May God keep you. He will watch over you son, your moms, your twin sister, and your double side Allan, love you Robert.

Henry was right that the gun was mishandled if unintended death occurred.

Yes we call them accidents, but if gun handlers were careful to NEVER point a gun — loaded or “unloaded” — at anyone they didn’t intent to kill, there would be far fewer accidents and loved ones having to mourn.

@Coe-Jerry A is on target with this comment. (I know it’s a bad pun)Over the years there have been a number of fire arms instructors who have had “accidents” while cleaning/working on/teaching firearms. A few have shot them self or objects such as a hot water heater. Accidents happen— it’s just we some times get to relaxed around firearms and “things happen”. For good firearm safety.

Mr Coe, what in the article leads you to believe that these guys were newer, inexperienced gun owners? It does not take an inexperienced gun owner to shoot himself or someone. That is called stupidity. Remember to highly experienced cop that was teaching a class on firearm safety and accidentally shot himself in the foot. Thankfully, it did not cause the loss of live as this one did,

They don’t call them accidents for no reason, but until we know the full story, we are remiss in chalking this up to inexperience.

That’s a shame. All these newer gun owners that don’t have enough experience or regard for their fire arm and some how end up mishandling the weapon in some way that it discharges?

What kind of fire arm was it?
