Ann Manning Tomlinson

Ann Manning Tomlinson, age 72, passed away Friday, September 6, 2013, at Wuesthoff Hospice House in Melbourne, FL, after a brave battle with cancer. Ann was born outside Excel, AL, on May 15, 1941, to Oscar and Annie Lee Manning. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, John W. Tomlinson.

Ann is survived by her daughter, Lisa Pappas; son-in-law Dimitri and granddaughter, Isabella of London, England; her son and grandsons; her sister, Betty Manning Woolley of Melbourne; her nieces, Mary Woolley Elwell, Rebecca Cox and her husband John, Carla Bradford and her husband David; her nephew, Howard Carl Woolley III and his wife Patricia; and her cousins and their families.

Ann loved school as a child and was a proud graduate of Excel High School in 1959. She had the opportunity to go to her 50th class reunion and loved keeping in touch with her school friends. After her marriage to John they moved to Pensacola where she worked at Chemstrand Corporation. She also worked as a paraprofessional for the Escambia County (FL)  School District retiring from Jim Allen Elementary School. Ann and John loved camping, fishing, dancing and cooking for friends. After John’s death she came to live with her sister and niece in Melbourne, Florida.

She will always be remembered with love and admiration by all who knew her. Special thanks to the family of Betty Manning Woolley for the loving care they gave Ann in her last years.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 17, 2013, from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. at Johnson Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 2 p.m. at Johnson Funeral Home Chapel.

Interment will be at New Home Cemetery.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home of Monroeville.
