Minor Injury: Man Shot In Cantonment

August 30, 2013

A man was shot but received only minor injuries early this morning in Cantonment.

The incident occurred in the 200 block of Sheppard Street when a man called the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office and reported that he had just shot someone across the street that was threatening him.

Deputies located the man and an empty shotgun shell in the front yard of the home, and they located the victim inside of a travel trailer at an address across the street from their suspect.

The victim suffered a minor wound to his shin from buckshot. The victim refused medical treatment, and he refused to press charges against the suspect, who was known to him.

Future charges may be pending against the suspect for discharging a firearm in public.

If the guy didn’t press charges he probably knew he was in the wrong and deserved it. If the state presses charges it would just be another waste of tax payer dollars. evidently the two men have settled their disagreement.

Someone shot in escambia county? Nothing new here….

People need to to go reaching for weapons so quickly. Not worth it..

Just rule that out in an arguement. Its not even worth raising your blood pressure and yelling or screaming over. Just say what you need to say in a concerned tone. If one or the other parties cannot demonstrate proper discourse during a disagreement or makes thereats, just leave. Not worth getting wrapped up in law enforcement, courts, ect. Plus there are hundreds of other things cops can be doing. Let the cops go deal with the real criminals and keep your little civil disagreements to yourselves. If you’re drunk or whatever, then you can still walk away. Walk down the street. Go to a neighbors, call a family member or friend to pick you up.

Whatever you do, don’t involve law enforcement. Its not worth it.

By having to call the police to handle issues that you have just show your ignorace and inability to function properly.

With that said, I’ve had neighbors call the cops on other neighbors because they. Heard them arguing for 10 minutes…. cmon folks. That does not need law enforcement action. If you hear a fight or screams for help that’s one thing, but an arguement is not a valid reason for emergency action.
