Two Charged With Robbing Woman At Gunpoint

July 20, 2013

Two Cantonment men have been charged with robbing a woman at gunpoint outside a local bar.

The victim told Escambia County deputies that she was sitting in her vehicle, waiting for a friend with her windows down, outside the bar near the intersection of Washington and Ellington streets in Cantonment. She said she was robbed at gunpoint by three black males who took her money, credit cards, cell phone and other items.

The victim told deputies she was afraid and drove the Walmart on Mobile Highway before reporting the robbery. One of the suspects later tried to use the victim’s credit card at an ATM located at a convenience store at North W Street and Massachusetts Avenue.

Deputies and the victim were able to identify all three suspects from surveillance video and a photo lineup.

Adonte D’Markus James, 24 of Booker Street, and Anthony Jerome Ducree of Louis Street, were charged with robbery with a firearm.  Ducree remains in the Escambia County Jail with bond set at half a million dollars.

James was also charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and fraud/impersonation for providing a false name to law enforcement. He remains in the Escambia County Jail with bond set at $502,000.

The Escambia Count Sheriff’s Office has not released the identity of the third suspect.

    REGARDING:
“They’ll be out in no time.”

Only if they put up over a million dollars in bond between the two of them.
Or pay out over a hundred thousand dollars between the two of them.
Or are tried and acquitted soon.
Or have the bond lowered considerably.

David wondering which it will be

Go ahead and put them in prison for about 40 years each, because once they are back on the street they will continue to prey on people…

Did she leave her “friend” at the bar?

I remember being in town back in 93 and encountering at the store an acquaintance from high school, who happened to have his head bandaged up. He informed me that he and his girl friend were robbed. My acquaintance related that they stabbed him in the head and then stole his girlfriend’s clothing. According to my acquaintance the incident happened near that intersection. I cannot imagine what they were doing there.

A good place to avoid, in any era.

    >>There is NO bar at that intersection, all houses there

It think it’s the dark blue/purple building on Washington Street between Ellington and Calloway. The ESCO report just mentions that intersection. There’s no sign in front of it on Google, but I found it referenced as the Blue Moon Cafe. But I’m not totally sure.

Well guess I need to get out more often; never even knew that there was a bar back there. But from the looks of the area on google maps, I think I might just keep my windows rolled up and my doors locked, especially after dark.

This isn’t adding up at all. This is a very well known “drive through” drug spot. There is no reason that anyone, unless they live on those streets, would dare drive into this area unless they are looking to buy crack. Sometimes a persons vices put them in dire situations. Just saying…

There is NO bar at that intersection, all houses there. . The closest bar in the area is near Robinson and Muscogee, next to a barber shop.
