I’ll go with the insurance job. Knew a young couple who used to brag about how they obtained money to buy their first house. His dad handled the theft of their Accura Legend with someone out of New Orleans. They moved, (thank goodness) to Tampa. Daddy was a piece of work.

@ Renee, thanks — did not know keys were needed for this car to operate. Figured the takers had hot-wired it.
Not far from my home a number of items, electronics, wallets, purses, cameras and the like were stolen from cars that were either UNLOCKED or had windows down overnight….DUH. If I were the insurance company would not pay on those claims.
Wonder if owner left keys in sight and car unlocked?

your wrong about having to have the keys to take this bmw. though it would seem that way but anyone who is a mechanic would know the system quiet well on these and how to start them. even though there is a computer link via key theres still ways to bypass all of that which is probably what happened here

Wasn’t there another BMW found, not long ago, that was also burned and turned out to be stolen?
Wonder if the same people are involved in this one?
    Maybe some anti-BMW group.
