Burglar Shot In Walnut Hill Arrested Again

June 24, 2013

An alleged burglar shot by a Walnut Hill homeowner last month has been been arrested again, this time in connection with a May 10 burglary in Pensacola.

Ricky Dewayne Taylor, age 33 of Front Street in Century remains in the Escambia County Jail with bond set at $15,000.

According to the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office, Taylor committed burglary and grand theft on Klondike Road on May 10.  Deputies say he parked his Lincoln Town Car with Alabama plates near a home in the 8000 block of Klondike. He then allegedly took a duffle bag, five extension cords and a five gallon gas can from a barn and placed them outside, according to an arrest report.

The resident walked outside and confronted Taylor near the duffle bag outside of his barn. Taylor ran and the victim gave chase but was unable to keep up. The victim noticed the out of place Lincoln Town Car in the neighborhood and photographed the tag. After the victim returned home, he drove around in an attempt to located the suspect and passed the Lincoln, being driven by the man he chased from his yard.

Deputies were able to trace the Lincoln to Taylor from the tag photo, and the victim positively identified Taylor from a photo lineup.

A week later, Taylor was shot in the leg by a homeowner that interrupted a burglary in progress at his home in the 3900 block of Rockaway Creek in Walnut Hill.  Taylor was hospitalized and fled to Alabama after being released. He was arrested the evening on May 21 in Escambia County, Ala., and then extradited to Florida to face outstanding warrants for burglary, larceny, criminal mischief property damage and battery.

In late May, Taylor was extradited back to Escambia County, Ala., to face charges of burglary third and theft second charges in connection with a burglary and theft on Canoe Road, between Atmore and Flomaton. He was accused of stealing items that included chainsaws and extension cords from a business.

    @Henry Coe,
    I’ll quote one your liberal democrat heroines, Hilliary Clinton, “What difference does it make now?” You guys won. We lost. It’s all over. We had our last chance.

    @LEO GUY,

    So in other words, you can’t verify the claim you made and you won’t even address it.

    The same questions I have asked, trying to get you to prove your point, still stands unproven by you, or anyone else for that matter..

    Btw, Redirecting to a different topic is not an answer.

  3. LEO GUY on June 25th, 2013 4:09 pm

    Oh Henry,
    Calm down there liberal democrat, the campaign is over, put down that mud. Once again you guys won. Now all you have to do is wait and see what your chief LEO guys, Barry Obama and Eric Holder is going to do. Remember, you don’t have to convince me, you have to convince yourself. Sleep tight! :-/

  4. Henry Coe on June 25th, 2013 1:31 pm

    @LEO GUY

    That wasn’t an answer and the question at hand has nothing to do with anyone winning or losing.
    You made a claim, while correcting two other people, having to do with criminals getting back on the streets too soon being the fault of Liberals (Democrats).

    I simply asked you to prove why you think that. It has to be based on some Legislation. Something verifiable. It doesn’t have anything to do with how you or I “feel”.

    If you actually have no idea if it was true and you just said that in order to create smear against Democrats, then you are hurting America through using bogus & untrue dialog, while pretending it to be political discourse.

    There are enough real problems in government & politics without you or anyone else just making stuff up and confusing political discourse. If you really are or were a LEO, the truth and facts should matter to you. If they don’t, please, get help.

    Judges ARE to blame if and when they are too lenient.
    They can only sentence within the laws that were created by all liberals, conservatives, repubs, democrats, etc.

    Who cares what the jails are like? Dont go there and yoiu need not worry about the condition. Maybe if all the jails were crappy, without all the nice perks the criminals would find another job so they dont have to spend a couple nights in a jail. Obey the law.

    @Henry Coe,

    There is nothing to debate. You liberal democrats won and are still winning. Remember? Now you just have to try and live with it. Good luck because we’re all going down. It’s just a matter of a short time. :-/

    @PWS

    “and there are a few Judges who are too lenient with repeat offenders”

    I guess they have to give the Escambia County deputys somthing to do… ?

  9. molino jim on June 24th, 2013 8:37 pm

    William. We are saying the same thing — just a little different spin on it.

  10. PWS on June 24th, 2013 8:21 pm

    I”m employed with the Dept. of Justice / Judicial System here in Pcola., and there are a few Judges who are too lenient with repeat offenders, check their criminal background and you’ll see numerous charges on them,before they are finally sent away to the Bureau of Prisons.

  11. Henry Coe on June 24th, 2013 8:19 pm

    @LEO GUY,

    There’s nothing to debate. You made a claim blaming Liberals & Democrats in contrast to your statement of “People like Sam and PWS need to stop blaming judges”.

    I simply asked you to back up your statement. This is an opportunity for to prove the statement you made and educate others in regard to your political perspective’s accuracies or inaccuracies.

    Btw, It’s ok too admit you were wrong, unless you lied, in which case you should probably get honest and own up to it. I’m just sayin’.

    There is nothing to debate. It’s either true and you can prove it or it’s not true and you were wrong in something you thought, which considering how Conservative Media implies news instead of being journalist make that very understandable or you purposely lied because you just wanted to smear Democrats and Liberals.

    at least these arrests are for crimes going back in time
    Which is to say it looks like he isn’t commiting new ones.
    Rather, being charged with previous offenses.

    David for catching bad guys
    and convincing them to repent
    by any means necessary

  13. poplardell on June 24th, 2013 5:21 pm

    @ LEO GUY,

    You’re not the only one who feels this way.

  14. Jeanette on June 24th, 2013 3:14 pm

    Why is his bond set so low? He sounds dangerous to society!

  15. LEO GUY on June 24th, 2013 3:13 pm

    @Henry Coe,

    I do not debate (argue) with liberal democrats anymore. You got your 2 cents and I got mine.

  16. nod on June 24th, 2013 2:37 pm

    henry, maybe it was obama care. no one knew what was in it and they still don’t.

  17. Henry Coe on June 24th, 2013 10:59 am

    @LEO GUY,

    Please, tell use what specific Legislation passed by Democrats has anything to do with this guy being back on the streets or how any specific Legislation passed or sponsored by Democrats has forced the courts to go easy on criminals like this numskull ?

    I like you to list at least maybe three pieces of Legislation. Be specific to HR or SB number and when it was signed into law and by whom. Thanks.

  18. LEO GUY on June 24th, 2013 9:57 am

    People like Sam and PWS need to stop blaming judges when liberals (democrats) are to blame. Didn’t you guys just see where the feds said our county jail is not nice enough? This country has been soft on crime now since I don’t know when, what maybe 50 years now? Our whole punishment system is a joke, but so is everything else the liberals try to “fix”.

    >>I feel sure that this fellow was still in jail– just another arrest warrant was served on him at the jail. Many times there will be a number of “arrests” made on the same subject and the subject never sees the outside between arrests.

    From the records I have available, he was not in the Escambia FL jail on the original charges related to the Walnut Hill burglary at the time of this arrest. He was, however, arrested the jail. Either he turned himself in there, or he was still in jail in Alabama and extradited back. It’s not clear on the arrest warrant.

  20. molino jim on June 24th, 2013 9:47 am

    I feel sure that this fellow was still in jail– just another arrest warrant was served on him at the jail. Many times there will be a number of “arrests” made on the same subject and the subject never sees the outside between arrests. There is a chance he made bond– but no where does it say he was picked up and arrested. While it’s true the court system is slow it’s only get worse as the work load goes up.

  21. Sam on June 24th, 2013 9:28 am

    Our justice system stinks. This guy should be serving time or awaiting trial in jail, no bail.

  22. PWS on June 24th, 2013 8:22 am

    Come on Judges, enough is enough already, what are you waiting for , for him to hurt somebody. Convict him & give him time already, system is toooooooo slow.

  23. Molino resident on June 24th, 2013 7:51 am

    I agree with Uh huh. He needs to get a new profession. Burglary is just not working for him. Beware, Mr. Taylor, Molino is like Walnut Hill. You are running a very good chance of getting shot and killed the next time.

  24. Uh huh on June 24th, 2013 7:11 am

    I think he needs to get out of the burglary business. It’s not working out for him. He could be on the show Worlds Dumbest Criminals.
