Fallen Escambia Deputies Honored

May 16, 2013

Law enforcement officers who have died in the line of duty were honored Wednesday by the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office and the Fraternal Order of Police. About a dozen Escambia County deputies have died in the line of duty — the first in 1923 and the most recent, Lt. George Hura, Jr., in 2004. Courtesy photos for NorthEscambia.com, click to enlarge.

Sad-that these men and women put their lives on the line everyday, and some make the ultimate sacrifice, yet not one comment. People scared the government might take away their guns, and comments are seemingly endless.

A BIG THANK YOU to all of my law enforcement brothers and sisters who protect and serve us, day and night. To the families of the fallen, your loved ones did not die in vein, but doing something they loved and believed in and I am forever grateful of their service to us all. May you all rest in peace…
