Red Light Runner Seriously Injured On Nine Mile Road

April 3, 2013

A driver that ran a red light on Nine Mile Road caused a three vehicle accident about 6:50 Tuesday evening.

The Florida Highway Patrol said 21-year old Charlie A. Brown of South Carolina was traveling west on Nine Mile Road at Chemstrand Road in a 1978 Datsun pickup  when he ran a red light and hit two vehicles — a 2001 Ford Explorer driven by 51-year old Russell G. Norton of Milton and a 2009 Hyundai driven by 38-year old Alyssa N. Boyer of Cantonment.

Brown’s Datsun pickup came to rest upside down on the west side of intersection. Brown, who was taken to Sacred Heart Hospital in serious condition, was cited by the FHP for running a red light and no proof of insurance.

Norton and Boyer received minor injuries.

Thank you God for saving precious lives this day…. Everyone pull over if you can not see well, the rays of the sun this time of day is very bad…

Hi folks. Just wanted to let you know that I am fine and I did not suffer ANY major injuries. Just cuts and bruises. I could not see the light change coming down 9 mile into the sunset. I warned myself I should pull over and wait for the sun to go down behind the trees but I did not listen to my gut. I was teeboned by both trucks. No human saved my life. But I do appreciate him giving me a hand. It’s hard to crawl out of a truck upside down! But he says he saved a life on Facebook, and that’s cool with me lol! By the way, I have proof of insurance. Going to be paying the red light ticket though. Just a word of advice. If the conditions are dangerous, just pull over!
    sure was a nice truck….

Kade Weatherford is the guy that saved Brown’s life. He pulled him out of his car and everything. Thank you Kade (:

I dont call these things “Accidents”. I call them “Stupids” because they never have to happen if people will obey the traffic laws and pay attention to what they are doing. Someone could have lost a Husband, Wife, Son, Daughter etc. do to this kind of behavior.

There was another roll over accident on I-110 last night near Fairfield that I havent seen mentioned anywhere yet.

Also, yesterday there was someone that almost caused an accident on the entrance ramp to 110 at 10, someone couldnt keep the vehicle in the lane and was holding up 5 or 6 cars including myself behind them because they were driving slow… I told my wife, “I wonder where that guy learned to drive” and was finally able to get around the traffic… the vehicle causing the problem was a ‘Learn to Drive’ traffic school car. LOL

Watch people run these redlights everyday, and Im not talking by a second or two, we’re talking about flat out running it. People are driving like they want now days, our traffic laws and regulations are non exsitant anymore, cops are too busy dealing with drug/murder crimes, and in the meantime the highways are beccoming just as dangerous.
