April 27, 2013

A Molino man was invested to the bench as a county judge in Santa Rosa County during a ceremony Friday afternoon. Tony Giraud was appointed to the county bench by Governor Rick Scott on November 16, 2012.

Giraud had served as an Assistant State Attorney in Pensacola since 1998. Previously, he served in the U.S. Army from 1986 – 1990. He received bachelor’s degree from Florida International University and a law degree from Florida State University College of Law.

“I am confident that Tony will make a great addition to the bench and will serve Santa Rosa County with the fairness and integrity that he has displayed his entire career,” Scott said.

Giraud fills the vacancy created by the appointment of Judge Ross L. Bilbrey to the First Judicial Circuit.

I have known Judge Giraud since the start. I have worked with him and opposite him in many, many situations and cases. He is tough, fair, and caring. I would trust him with my life and my family’s. He is a class-act!
