Former Commissioner Kevin White Back In Escambia County Politics

Former Escambia County District 5 Commissioner Kevin White is back in county government.

The Escambia County Commission voted Thursday night to appoint White to a two year at-large post of the Board of Adjustment. White received three votes from commissioners, while Angelique Sanders and Jim Taylor received on vote each.

White represented District 5 on the commission from 2004 to 2011.

The Escambia County Board of Adjustment is tasked with considering administrative appeals, conditional use permits, site plan approval extensions and variances under the Land Development Code.

    @ Frank–Please remember we are living in Escambia county. Qualifications have little or no bearing on the job. I would also like to know what the vote was. White knew he could not be reelected in dist. 5 so he dropped out and hoped his friend who were still on the board of C.C. would take care of him—they did. It’s like the 4-H property deal– anyone heard where the new property is going to be? I guess the 4-H members learned a good lesson about trusting local government and the local movers and shakers.

    Maybe he learned something as the borrow pit / catfish pond came into his district and he was so confused. This guy was comical. Useless.

    Not a surprise. One of the worst commissioners we have had. Corruption breeds corruption. Good ole boy network doing great. First George at the county and now we have our commissioners feel they need to take care of another flawed individual
    who has served. Did our commissioner vote for this? Are we as stupid as they think we are? Must Be!!!

    This county is like a reoccurring infection. I’m ashamed to say I live here. If I ever get enough money or can sell my house without giving it away I’m gone.

    Why? is that what you asked..Why?

    The answer is simple. That bunch always looks after their own and there was no room for another mechanic at the County Garage at a pay scale he could accept.

    Besides, someone with a history of allowing illegal “catfish ponds” in his district is just the kind of guy we need overseeing “variances and extensions” for Land Developers…

    You just can’t make up this stuff up….lol
