Edna Earl perhaps you have forgotten that Christmas is in December and the award was up way after the decorations were taken down. I thought the award was for cleaning up not to get people to see what kind of services the place has. The Century. Correctional should.get the award for inmates cleaning
every yard but the first yard that is on the corner. It is suppose to be there for people to get noticed for up their nasty yard. i thought it was for the community not the town to get noticed we see you.

Melissa, I agree with you. The city and county buildings have their own lawn maintenance staff for this. How many of us have that advantage.

Perhaps Melissa missed the reason for the award being placed in front of the”old ugly building.” It was to honor the site where the Manger scene had been at Christmas time. The award was given to the B G Wardcourthouse, hoping our community would investigate all of the services there. Some do not know how much can be done there and save a trip to Pensacola. The award is also to encourage us to clean & beautify the town.

i think this award is not worth even doing. A month or two ago they had it in front of a old ugly building that is a eyesore. It should go in yards that HAVE made a CHANGE since the award thing started. Not just the town of Century properties it’s not right or fair for the Century Residents. I feel this award should be stopped or givin out fairly to residents that have changed their yard or cleaned it.

I remember my first trip to traffic court in 1974, Judge Billy Ward sent me to Defensive Driving School. He was a formidable billiards player, back in the day.
