Four-Wheeler Stolen In Walnut Hill Results In Grand Theft Arrest

March 18, 2013

A Flomaton man has been arrested on an outstanding warrant in connection with the theft of a four-wheeler last year.

Johnathon Keith Buchanan, 21, was charged with felony grand theft of a motor vehicle for the alleged theft of a 2007 Honda Recon valued at $5,830 from a business at 5026 Arthur Brown Road in Walnut Hill on November 30, 2012.

The Escambia County Sheriff’s Office said Buchanan transported the four-wheeler to Escambia County, Ala., and sold it for $400. The stolen four-wheeler was recovered in late December and returned to the owner with about $300 in damage.

Buchanan admitted to the theft, according to an arrest report.

    >>>what abot the two boys from Atmore that helped this boy get the ATV? Why did they not get arrested ?

There is no mention of anyone else being involved in Mr. Buchanan’s arrest report. It reads that he acted alone.

Kayla, that’s what’s wrong with people today they make excuses so help your brother by not taking up for him. It doesn’t matter that it was 1 or 3 he did it, 2 wrongs doesn’t make it right.

Kayla, your parents must be so proud!
Curious, remember the old adage……if it sounds too good to be true, it probably isn’t so the deal was hot from the start.

Stealing is stealing and we all work hard for what we BUY. If somebody wants something, they should work hard to save the money to BUY it. How does anyone know that wasn’t some kid’s Christmas gift?

Here’s a question….if you live in Flomaton, why don’t you steal from your neighbors instead of coming to Walnut Hill, then cross the state line to sell it? Something doesn’t sound quite right to me.

    That’s just not fare.

After all, he admitted to the crime. We should just disband the sheriff’s office…all they do is go around arresting people with good hearts that just mess up and accidentally steal anything that’s not chained down.

My brother was not the only one who took the four
wheller so I don’t think it is fare that he is the only one
that should lock up. But don’t worry u want be there much longer we r tryin to get the dropped like the onwer done for the other two boys.

To BD, some people do get down on their luck & need to sell stuff so no I don’t think the other person should be arrested just because they paid a little money unless they knew it was stolen. To troubled, everybody does not know how much those things are or how much they depreciate, because everybody does not buy those things & if I was looking to buy 1 & I came upon a good deal like that or a good deal on anything else, I probably would have bought it also, I would have thought I just got lucky, and don’t tell me you’ve never came across a good deal & not bought it unless you didn’t have the money, because almost everybody I know has had good deals come there’re way @ least once in their life, now it’s bad for the owner, because I wouldn’t want my stuff stole either, but usually people do gave ins on stuff like that

Now, maybe peopl will understand why people lock things up. I hope he gets more than a slap on the wrist. I work hard for my stuff and know how expensive things are.

I thought inflation drove prices up, not down. $400 for a 4-wheeler? It’s sad because a bad decision has lasting consequences.

Whoever bought it should be in jail also. What kind of idiot would buy that kind of piece for that amount and not be pretty sure that it’s hot? They’re just as guilty.
