Cantonment Man Gets 25 Years For Home Invasion Robbery

March 28, 2013

A Cantonment man has been sentenced Wednesday to 25 years in state prison for a a 2011 home invasion robbery.

Londarrius Don Padgett, 21, will be required to serve a minimum mandatory 10 years under the sentenced handed down by Circuit Judge Michael Allen.  Padgett was convicted by an Escambia County Jury last month of home invasion robbery with a firearm, grant theft, and grand theft of a firearm.

On December 8, 2011, Padgett and an unknown codefendant, kicked open the door of a residence in Cantonment while armed with a handgun and shotgun. The victims at the residence were forced to the ground at gunpoint and were then robbed of their money, cell phones, and other items.

One victim saw Padgett’s face during the robbery and was able to identify him in a photo lineup. The victims were unable to identify the other suspect because of a mask.

    REGARDING:
“Are you honestly saying that while you’re laying on the couch watching TV, all comfortable and cozy with a situation such as this being the furthest thing from your mind, that you are have your gun right by your side? ”

    Doesn’t everybody?

But seriously, even when he kicks in a door, that doesn’t assure him all residents will be clustered up where he can order them around. In fact it isn’t certain the door will fail on the first kick, or that they won’t have dogs to warn them of his approach or his entry.

Every object in a house is a weapon if used properly. It might not be a GOOD weapon, but it might be good enough to disarm him long enough to kill him.

So, YES, he DID run the risk of being killed if he broke into the right home. Let us be thankful nobody had to kill or be killed due to his extreme trashiness and hope he finds the Lord ere he finds Hell.

    David for thankfulness

All of you people make it sound like this could never happen to any of you. Are you honestly saying that while you’re laying on the couch watching tv, all comfortable and cozy with a situation such as this being the furthest thing from your mind, that you are have your gun right by your side? How about when you’re eating dinner? Are you strapped then too? In the bath? Gun behind the toilet? Gun in every room of your house?

If so, I certainly hope that you don’t have any children around these “readily accessible” weapons. I’m all for the right to bear arms, and I excersice that right myself. But to think that it could never happen to you is just foolish and makes you sound ignorant. I’m sure these people thought the same way. It says they kicked the door open. I’m sure the victims were like a deer in the headlights at this point, unarmed, and unaware that this would or could happen.

I’m just glad (as I’m sure they are too) that they were only robbed and not killed. Remain vigilant out there people, don’t just assume it always happens to someone else, somewhere else.

Inmate Padgett (as you will soon be reffered to,) you’re a 21-year-old punk, and that’s what you will become in prison. I’ll bet you wish your accomplice wasn’t the only one with a mask.

Be glad you only got a little time in the Big House. You could have left that residence in a body bag.

He didn’t rat out hs scumbag partner, so he should have to serve his mandatory 10 years also. 25 years/mandatory 10… he’s getting off light. He should have served enough that he would be an old man when he got out

This is great. I was on the Jury Selection for this guy, didnt get picked, but was there. I have to say the jury selection procedures there are horrible. This guy was in the same room as us and new all of our names and selected the ones he wanted to be trying him. Whats to say he dont get revenge on some of the very jurors that convicted him? I think that needs to be changed.

TC you would be the one going to jail and the justice department would be asking why this young man’s life was terminated.

It would make the national news, hour on hour, day after day and so forth.
Ever hear of 13 month old toddler Antonio Santiago, who was shot in the face (murdered) as he sat in his baby stroller in Brunswick Ga on March 11 2013?
Don’t worry you won’t hear about it on the national network news as it does not fit the agenda.
