Woman Charged With Pulling Gun On Her Sister

February 6, 2013

A Century woman is behind bars charged with pulling a gun on her sister in an argument over care for their elderly mother.

Mattie Alice Carter, 60, is charged with aggravated assault. She remained in the Escambia County Jail early Wednesday morning with bond set at $100,000.

Carter allegedly got into a verbal argument with her 64-year old sister at their mother’s residence on Jefferson Avenue over money owed by the sister to Carter for their mother’s care. The sister told deputies that Carter pulled a black handgun on her and stated, “I’m gonna blow your [expletive]  head off if you don’t give me my money”, according to an Escambia County Sheriff’s Office arrest report.

The victim fled the residence and called deputies.

Sometimes a person has to give up a job to care for a family member – but they still have to pay the light bill, the water bill, buy groceries, etc. If she was told she would get paid to care for the family member, but didn’t……well, I can see why she got mad. Maybe we don’t know the whole story. Too bad money is a necessary evil……

So she was fighting about payment for caring for HER MOM! I wonder how much her mom charged her for the pregnancy and childbirth?

I agree with FredS. Apparently she don’t have the right connections. Pitiful.

So let me get this straight. Pulling a gun on a family member and making a threat, domestic violence, gets you $100,000 bond, but threatening a stranger while robbing a bank topped off with a bomb threat causing all kinds of traffic and stress issues( think of the EOD guys clearing the “bomb”) will only get you a $10,000 bond? OK got it! Man what a system.
