    @ No excuses….I have worked with children and families for 30 years in schools and churches. I have been kicked, bitten, and sworn at, I have seen troubled kids, children with emotional problems, and kids who somehow got stuck with the worst parents imaginable. Haven’t met an animal yet.

    I remember the time Mr Murphy caught us smoking in the Tate math building restroom. Deleted was telling a fascinating story and we were so absorbed that we did not even notice Mr Murphy standing amongst us until the story was finished.

    I further remember Mr Murphy enlightening us to the fact that the new modern, circular combination group urinal/hand washing stations were for handwashing only.

    @Mary.

    Former public school teacher here. Some of them ARE animals, sorry to say. I probably have a few of them in the prison where I work now. Sometimes, the facts stand for themselves.

    Teens are not known for having much foresight to their actions…..thought it was funny, did it on a dare, etc. Yes, if caught they should be suspended for a couple days and hopefully they have the type parent who will call a “come to Jesus” meeting and this particular teen will learn actions have consequences. And if our sheriff actually said we send “animals” to school every day, maybe he needs a little time out himself.

    I don’t think starting a fire in your school qualifies as just a “stupid” teenage prank.

    Paul, I guess you never did anything stupid as a teenager…

    Proud 04 Graduate here…such a shame the current generation doesnt take more pride in their school, and its a fine institution of learning. i hope the find the person, and punish them HARD.

    Paul, agree.
    The office and school administration review the video tape (hallways and common areas only). Determine who went into the restroom and press charges. All the way to school board referral and request for expulsion. Folks this happened last year @ Escambia HS. Anything ever flush out with this case, who started the fire? EC Sherriff , said it best this morning on WCOA news talk and I’ll be blunt about it . “We send ANMILS to school everyday”.

    The number of lives that were put in danger for this punkish maneuver is sickening!

    You would think by high school one would know the seriousness of a crime like arson, The perp just put many lives in danger.. I hope the person is caught and penalized to the full extent of the law..
