My 84 year old father got rear-ended by a 17 year old kid today. The kid said he just didn’t see the truck turning in front of him, probably because he was texting on his cellphone. His parents have stepped in and will do their best to make things right. I’m just so thankful my Daddy wasn’t injured any worse than he was, and I hope their son learned a valuable lesson.

Now, a 38 year old woman with suspended license and no insurance that ran over a school bus? I guess there’s not much her Momma can do about it! But the Sheriff can. Rear-ending a school bus while license suspended and no insurance will probably get her some jail time – which she richly deserves!

My daughter in law solved the mystery of why busses cant be seen. Seems the yellow bus blends into the yellow lines on the road and makes them invisible! :-)

This makes sense to me because the other option is to accept that certain people are not paying attention to the road while hurtling down the pavement at 35+ mph, and we all know that would never happen.

Regardless of what is on the buses or how they’re painted, people are still going to hit them and say they “didn’t see it.” The only way for this stop happening is for people to be 100% attentive while they’re driving. Common sense, really, but it would appear some drivers are lacking that given the amount of bus crashes that have occurred in this county in recent years…

Maybe painting them neon green would make them more noticeable. When was the last time we heard of someone hitting an ECAT bus?

School buses and motorcycles are just so hard to see!

The question in this wreck is not how they hit the bus. Its why they were even able to have a tag on the car. It is illegal in the state of florida to have no insurance.

When will the law enforcement of our fine state enforce the laws already on the books?

Well… thats pretty bad if she had no insurance and a suspended license… maybe this has happened before to her…

Hope the students are ok, but I agree they should make them big, and put flashing lights and color them a bright color.

No license, no insurance, and lacks the ability to pay attention. Why is this driver still on the road? They should be using our fine ECAT service!

No insurance and driving with suspended, hot pink color bus would not help drivers like that.

I just can’t understand why someone can’t see a school bus stopping? It’s like not seeing an elephant in your livingroom! Maybe they need glasses?

I hope they are all ok, why does this seem to be happening so much this school year? Maybe we should paint the buses HOT PINK or NEON GREEN and when the lights flash it should make a honking sound like train. Come on people it’s a big yellow bus!!! please pay attention!
