Night Work, Lane Closures Planned On Nine Mile Road
February 19, 2013
Nine Mile Road in Escambia County will be reduced to one lane of traffic from west of Pine Cone Drive to Highway 29 from 8 p.m. Tuesday to 6 a.m. Wednesday as crews begin paving operations.
All activities are weather dependent and may be delayed or re-scheduled in the event of inclement weather. Drivers are reminded by the Florida Department of Transporation to pay attention to the speed limit when traveling through the construction area and to use caution, especially at night, when driving in work zones.

I thought they were going to 4 lane this section. I went to a meeting at Plainview Baptist Church (seems like 2 years ago) about it. Lots of DOT people & our county commissioner, etc. were there. Anyone know if that is still in the works?
Sure hope drivers in this area of the county are more careful this time as road work is being done at 9 Mile and 29 Hwy. Recently some drivers were not as focused as necessary when driving through a “Men at Work” area and someone was killed. Hope we have learned from our mistakes.
I really hope that if you need signs on the road that you go over to co. rd. 297A and pick them up . I am glad you are doing the work at night and that no one gets hurt.
