February 6, 2013
The Escambia County Sheriff’s Office seized over 17 pounds of synthetic marijuana with a street value of about $40,000 from seven convenience stores in the county during undercover operations last week.
Escambia County Sheriff’s Office Special Investigations Unit targeted 11 convenience stores and found seven to be participating in the sale and distribution of synthetic marijuana, commonly known as spice. Investigators seized a total of 1,790 packages of suspected spice during last Friday’s operation.
Several felony charges and arrests are pending further investigation, the Sheriff’s Office said Monday. No other details, including the locations of the stores, have been released.

I hope that everyone will realize the danger of this drug.
If you have not read or seen the story of the young woman who started having seizures after using spice you need to look up her testimony and read it.
I recently talked with a 19 year old who lost her 25 year old sister through drug overdose on bath salts.
This is very serious. If you do not get this stuff off the shelfs there will be deaths rising from the use of it.
Anyone looking to escape day to day living, with the use of drugs do not really care to live anyway so someone needs to “care” for them.
Please get rid of this stuff- out of the stores asap, is you have any sensibility about you at all—storeowners! nationwide!!!!
Please!!! A concerned citizen……
To Kathy….the drugs will be back in other stores.
People need to know the names of the stores so that their life is not in danger!!!!!!!! I wouldn’t shop in a store that sold this poison!!!!!!!!
I dont think they feel the need to name the stores. It really dont matter, they got that crap off the streets.
Amen, Karen and Ash30!!!!!!!!! Thank you, Jesus!!!!!!! Now get the rest of it gone before another mother has to live the nightmare I’m living right now. I had told the Law about O’ Yes Lotto selling this stuff along time ago, but unfortunately nothing was done!!!!!!
I hope that North Escambia makes a note to follow up and publishes the names of the stores when they become available. I would prefer to spend my money at establishments that obey the laws (not that my little bit of money would make a big difference but it is the principle )
They should have been looking for Bathsalts while they were at it!!
I hope they catch all the stores selling this crap. Like the other person LIST the STORES name!!!! I hate to say this but my son smokes this crap and if those stores didn’t sell it he would be a much better person. It breaks my heart and if I could find just one store that sells this I would turn them in. One less store is one step closer to getting them all. Call the sheriff’s office if you know a store selling this crap. Help them out.
I agree with Dan, the public should know who is selling the stuff. We can shut them down (boycot) if the P.D. won’t. I’d like to know who in Century is selling it. I’ve seen what spice does to individuals, I also grew up in the 60’s when marijuana was common. This stuff is NOT to be associated with marijuana. Nothing “natural” about it!
I’m pretty sure they don’t care if it hurts someone or not, as long as it lines their pockets.
Do the people trying to sell this stuff not realize that it is KILLING people!!
They should list the stores and the names of the stores’ owners.
Shame them and give us the opportunity to boycott these law breakers!
good
Come to Century theres a store selling that mess!!
