Dortch Road Bridge Closed For Repairs

The Dortch Road Bridge in North Escambia closed Wednesday for repairs, according to the Escambia County Public Works Department.  It is estimated that the bridge, which was  constructed over Beaver Dam Creek in 1965, will be closed for about 60 days.     That IS a pretty song. Nice thought too, no matter the troubles below, the bridge carries you safely past and like that bridge the singer will do all he can to protect her even as she leaves him behind.

    It just seems like yesterday that Dortch Road was a dirt road.

    Maybe they will up the weight limit from five tons in the process.
