Cruisers Unlimited Donates To Ronald McDonald House

January 8, 2013

The Cruisers Unlimited car and truck club of Atmore recently presented a generous donation to the Ronald McDonald House in Atmore.

Last summer, the car enthusiast group also held a small car show and grilled dinner for the Ronald McDonald House residents. The local Ronald McDonald House provides a home away from home for family members of children who travel from their homes to receive medical treatment in Pensacola.

In the 80’s I had a sick little brother that was transported from Sacred Heart to Shands in Gainesville. My family and I spent several times in the Ronald McDonald House. They have clean rooms to sleep in, a kitchen to prepare your meals, laundry facilities to clean your clothes, and security to protect you at night. It’s nice to have a safe and secure place to stay when you are out of town.
Thanks Ronald McDonald House for taking care of my family.

Thank you so much for your donation to the Ronald McDonald House. My granddaughter was born in 2010 with pulmonary hypertension , which wasn’t expected, even by the doctor. She was transferred to USA and spent 9 days there. We signed up for RMH, but there just weren’t enough rooms there to accomodate families of sick children. We never got in, and had to travel back and forth the whole time. Luckily she was only there a short time and it wasn’t hard for us to commute. Other families aren’t so lucky and have a lot of out of pocket expenses. This is a wonderful charity and I would love to see it thrive. Thank you all again, it really is appreciated!
