Cause Of Death Released For Body Found Off Hwy 29

Preliminary autopsy results released this afternoon show that Melisa Midori Thownsend died from multiple stab wounds.
Her body was found last Friday afternoon in an area behind a business in 6900 block of Pensacola Boulevard, near Kenmore Boulevard. Deputies said it appeared the body had been in the field for several days.
Investigators are not releasing how many wounds Townsend received or what she was stabbed with.
The Escambia County Sheriff’s Office is looking to speak to anyone that may have seen Townsend in the last couple of weeks. She was known to frequent the areas of Davis Highway, Brent Lane, Pensacola Boulevard, Olive Road and Burgess Road.
Anyone with information about Townsend during the last two weeks is asked to call the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office at (850) 436-9620 or Gulf Coast Crime Stoppers at (850) 433-STOP.

This woman didn’t deserve to be murdered like this. The person that did this was heartless and evil.
Last time I saw this woman she was at ECC pregnate. What happened to her baby I wonder? I hope it was safe. I know she was homeless and hope they find who would do such a horrible thing.

She was born March 12, 1977 so she was a couple of months shy of 36

i remember seeing this girl in atmore at the flee market… her and some guy was in there begging for money , said she needed her seizure meds… we called to where she said the meds were and they said they have no such person in their system.. hate to guess at it here, but as befor, we figgered it was drugs they needed the money for!.. sorry this had to happen to her… sorry for her family, she seemed like a nice person.
