Three Escambia Men Indicted On Federal Child Porn Charges

December 18, 2012

Three Escambia County men were arraigned Monday on child pornography charges.

Kevin Allaire, 24, is charged in a two-count indictment alleging that he received and possessed child pornography between June 2008 and August 2010.  Mack Varnado, 32, is charged in a three-count indictment with receipt, transportation, and possession of child pornography between March 2005 and February 2012.  William Dunaway, Jr., 22, is charged with one count of possession of child pornography on July 31, 2012.

If convicted, Allaire and Varnadoeach face a mandatory minimum sentence of five years up to a maximum of twenty years in prison, and Dunaway faces up to a maximum sentence of ten years’ imprisonment.  All three cases are set for separate trials in February 2013.

These cases werebrought as part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative launched by the Department of Justice in May 2006 to combat the growing epidemic of child sexual exploitation and abuse. Led by United States Attorneys= Offices and the Criminal Division’s Child Exploitation and Obscenity Section, Project Safe Childhood marshals federal, state, and local resources to locate, apprehend, and prosecute individuals who exploit children via the Internet, as well as to identify and rescue victims.

To my fellow Christians on this site commenting and putting down our other fellow Christian…as a Christian, we are not supposed to kick other Cjristians while they are down. What these men did was a sin. But in life, we all sin everyday. I’m not trying to say what these men did wasn’t wrong, but we should pray for them…especially a fellow Christian. He needs us probably now more than ever.

Really “Amazing”? Because these men didn’t physically see the goings on with these minors (regardless of the age), we should believe they weren’t scared by these perverted men? If these men had anything to do with child pornography at any level, the children (again regardless of age) were damaged immensely. A 16 – 17 year old may not be considered a child to our society, but they are a person and somebody’s child. Pornography is pornography and it is demonic and only used for personal, sick gain.

Varnado, you know we reap what we sow. I know you are thankful that you’ve finally been caught so that you can’t hurt anyone again for a long time. You’ve been under deep demonic control. This is your time of freedom if you will allow Jesus to change your life.

@Amazing: You are SO right. I have a very good family member who was arrested for downlaoding “child” pornognaphy, when in actuality he had NO idea that the girls in the videos he was watching were underage at all!
I do not approve of such filth; however, I also do not condone sending men to prison and ruining their lives because of natural lust, when it is of no consiquense to anyone else.

We must keep in mind a few things though… A charge with child porn doesn’t mean they had any contact or even attempted contact with anyone underage. They’ve not scared kids if they’ve not met with them. You’re wishing for pain and suffering for people who may not have done anything with a minor. Secondly, child doesn’t always mean elementary kids. We must consider that 16-17 year olds are still children. I don’t know the facts in these cases, but we can’t assume that we know the details based upon the charges. Even if they are guilty, it may not be for what we first assume. If any of them had been charged with meeting with a minor, it would have said so.

Hoping Varnado, if guilty, is punished to the full extent of the law. I also hope he gets mental help for whatever drove him to this. He has lived a very public life and it’s scary to think but he should be further investigated for any other offenses due to his close proximity to children in his former career.

This is disgusting! One of these guys has really screwed up. (Which they all did) but one was claiming to be a “big shot” in a certain field and was around kids a lot. He also was taking money from good people that believed in him. What phony!!! This guy should never be let back out on the streets!!! People know what your kids are doing and who they are around no matter who they are!!

Proceed with extreme prejudice and firm intent, when dealing with these people who produce and traffic in this abomination. No quarter.

People like this should not get a second chance to do these things again. They should be put away for life or put to death. They have scared these kids for the rest of their lives. I had a monster come n on my family and I and still to this day I think about it so I can only imagine how these kids r going to feel for the rest of their lives. If they go to jail I hope the inmates give them what they deserve. PAIN AND SUFFERING! So to be so hateful .
