Man Gets 25 Years For Molesting Young Teen

December 20, 2012

A Milton man was sentenced to 25 year in state prison forĀ  molesting a child in Escambia County by Judge Jan Shackelford.

In November, Ryan Scott Debord was found guilty of an Escambia County jury of sexual battery while in a position of custodial or familial authority and lewd or lascivious molestation upon a child over 12 but less than 16 by an offender over 18 year of age.

Between July 2011 and February 2012, Ryan Scott Debord molested a 13 year-old female child, according to evidence presented in court.

Debord was also designated as a sexual offender.

    @ Mary

I am also a survivor. The person guilty and was proven guilty is serving two life sentences. The only difference in my case, it didn’t go to trial, he plead guilty. Nonetheless, the pain never goes away. Every aspect of my life has been and continues to be affected. I pray that her family reaches out for help for themselves and her to deal with this traumatic event.

A 25 year sentence doesn’t mean the slime will have to serve it all either. We need to start killing those that hurt children like this. Why should this guy get to sit on his fat rear end for years and years, with free food, lodging and health care all at the taxpayers expense. People like this never change, he will always be a threat to children. Why do we insist on putting the rights of the convict before those of the victim. He deserves the same consideration he gave his victim. I also think 5 to 10 for murder is far too light. Inmates should be working till they can’t do anything but sleep. That would take care of the gangs and other problems in the prisons. Hardcore vile criminals like this deserve nothing but a rope. I’m so sorry for the victim.

No 25 yrs is not enough because this child will live her ENTIRE life with problems now thanks to this man, I totally agree not enough should have been life. You don’t mistreat helpless CHILDREN people !!!!! Sick of the cruel people in this world !!!!

Are you proposing harsher sentences for murder or opposing locking up the guy that rapes little girls?

Nice to see one pervert actually pays some sort of price for ruining a child’s life. It doesn’t happen often that’s for sure! Most of them attend ONE class and get probation. Our justice system is a joke! If it ever happens in my family again, I won’t depend on the justice system to take care of it, thats for sure!

BANG BANG!!! waste of tax payers $$ to have him locked up for any amount of time!!! I am a survivor of this crime & yep family & custodial member!! GOD help this child forever & ever ..she will NEED it!!!

So 5-10 for murder is ok but 25 years for molestation is not enough? Please explain.

Two things are wrong here….1. He is not a MAN but a predator. 2. 25 years is not nearly enough.

I am so happy to see that this one didn’t get away with molesting a child! However. I think his sentence of 25 years was too light for his crime.
