Deputy Receives Minor Injuries In Crash

December 9, 2012

An Escambia County Sheriff’s deputy received minor injuries in a single vehicle crash early Saturday morning.

The Florida Highway Patrol said Deputy Kevin M Stinebaugh was traveling east on Massachusetts Avenue approaching a Starla Circle driveway just before 2 a.m. Stinebaugh, 27, was responding to an officer assist call in his 2005 Ford Crown Vic patrol car.

Stinebaugh lost control of the cruiser due to slippery conditions from a recent light rain, the FHP said. The cruiser left the roadway, collided with a wooden fence and came to rest adjacent to an apartment. No contact was made with the building.

Stinebaugh was transported to Baptist Hospital with minor injuries.

There were no charges filed in the crash.

    @ Marcus: It’s apparent to me that you don’t travel I-110 around 7:45 a.m.
If you did you would not honestly be able to say that.

Anyone have an update on the status of the deputy who drove off the bridge earlier this year? Hope she is well.

Whenever I see an ECSO Cruiser its usually doing the speed limit or below. Obviously when lights and sirens they are gunning it. I’d say they do a good job at teaching/stressing not speeding unless they have to.

I’m glad he’s not injured. As much as police officers are on the road and driving, it is amazing that they don’t have more wrecks than they do. Of course, they are probably the best drivers that exist.
