Aleene Ruth (Dunsford) (Carr) Reeves

Aleene Ruth (Dunsford) (Carr) Reeves, age 94 of Jay, passed from this earth into the arms of her Lord and Savior on December 22, 2012.

She was preceded in death by her mother and father Lidge and Addy Dunsford; her first husband Hubert James Carr; one son, Junior Carr, who died at the age of three and three brothers Willie, Hillary and Eugene Dunsford. Aleene and Hubert shared 58 happy years of marriage. She was also preceded in death by her second husband, Clifford Reeves to whom she was married for 17 wonderful years.

She is survived by nieces, nephews and many friends that will miss her gentle ways and always welcoming smile. She never met a stranger and loved to talk. She was the last surviving founding member of Brownsdale Baptist Church. A church that was, along with her family, the center of her life.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, December 24, 2012, at Brownsdale Baptist Church with Brother Jeff Leake officiating .

A visitation will be from noon until 1 p.m. Burial will follow at Cora Baptist Church Cemetery.

Pallbearers are Ryan Lowry, Jacob Lowry, Tyler Odom, Seth Dunsford, Sean Dunsford, Brandon Chambless, Jeff Hawthorne and Sam Cleaver.

Jay Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
