Two Injured When Truck Slams Into Concrete Pole

November 25, 2012

Two people were injured in a single vehicle accident late Saturday night in Beulah.

The Florida Highway Patrol said 33-year old David Jordan was northbound on Mobile Highway near Nine Mile Road when he failed to properly negotiate a curve and struck a concrete utility pole with his 1995 Dodge pickup about 11:50 Saturday night.

Jordan and his passenger, 27-year old James R. Nunnelley were both transported by Escambia County EMS to Sacred Heart Hospital in serious condition.

The crash sent the utility pole and power lines to the ground, temporarily blocking a portion of the roadway.

Charges against Jordan are pending further investigation, according to the FHP. The Beulah and Bellview stations of Escambia Fire Rescue and the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office also responded to the crash.

Looks like the passenger had no seat belt buckled. I can’t leave mine unbuckled any more – I know it saves lives. And if I had a wreck and didn’t have it buckled, my insurance would not pay.
