I think y’all should all put yourselves in the shoes of the two tellers working at that time. Try putting yourselves in their shoes. There is no telling what you may do when you know you’re about to get robbed.
Amused, I totally agree..

Perhaps we should focus more on training tellers and other bank personal to be vigilant of those wearing items that conceal their identity, instead of splitting hairs? I think we would both agree that is the way to go….

I am not trying to pick a fight or be obtuse, but to quote you….
PATRIOT, FYI there isn’t a “law” but being married to a 20+ year veteran of the banking industry, It is their bank policy that all hoodies, sunglasses, motorcycle helments, etc. be removed upon entry. If no removal = no service, as it should be. Just common sense goes a long way.

>>If no removal = no service
How else should I understand this?
amused, might want to re-read my previous posts, nowhere did I say that there was a note or a sign posted stating their policy. I also did not state that the policies on any banking institution would prevent robbery. It merely brings more attention to those who walk in w/hoodies, shades, or helmets, etc. Stay calm, read slooowwwly..

Pretty sure if there was security there to “remind them of the policy”, they wouldn’t need the policy, because they would try to rob a different bank that didn’t have security.
And ICEMAN, it is pretty amusing if you think a note on the door will prevent a theft, perhaps instead of saying no hoodies and sunglasses, just simply post “no hold ups please?”
I have seen on a few financial institutions signs on the door stating no hoodies, sunglasses, etc.
My question is this: Is there no SECURITY GUARD there that as soon as someone walks in with a hood up, sunglasses or motorcycle helmet on, that will walk up to them and remind them of the policy?
At least if the perp is confronted right at the door, he may either leave, or if the “poop hits the fan”, the tellers have a few more precious seconds to hit the alarm!
Guess I should have simplified it a bit: if you walk in with a hoodie & shades, or motorcycle helmet, you Will heighten everyone’s attention/awareness. Definitely not amusing as some people might think.

BANK TELLER TO WOULD BE ROBBER: “I am sorry I can’t give you all the money out of my till. Didn’t you see the sign that said no hoodies?”
WOULD BE ROBBER: “oh, sorry” then turns and walks shamefully away…
Youre right Patriot..

from the several shots provided, you cannot discern the ethniciity- black, white, hispanic, etc…..could even be wearing that fake nose/glasses disguise- i like ABEs idea alot…
Iceman,
That’s my point. Bank robbery is obviously illegal. But if a criminal, knowing he is risking his life or facing years in prison, still decides to rob a bank… do you think that a little old “bank policy” on clothing is going to stop him?
That’s like businesses that put up “no guns” signs, thinking it will prevent them from being robbed.

Abe,
How would you stop them? Should the bank handle it, or the government? Maybe there should be a law against hats and hoodies in banks.
I can’t help but wonder why anyone is allowed in a bank or CU without being required to show their face. It would be simple; no smile for the camera = no entry. This video made it look way too easy.

How do we watch it
Do they know if he is black or white? What height and does he have an accent? They probably haven’t released all this yet. I agree with Justme – surely they have a better picture than the on provided here. If not they should have.
I agree this quality is awful for a credit union, not blaming you Mr. William. Also why is there not cameras behind the desk and multiple throughout to offer multiple shots? The picture showed or the last image on the video is the best there is. I say upgrade surveillance equipment soon!
>>So why do they have his face pixilated? Are we not to identify the guy?
It’s the quality of the video. The photos on the page are the best quality images I could pull from the video, which you can watch for yourself at the bottom of the page.
