Obama Wins County In Mock Election; Tate, Ernest Ward, Ransom Students Pick Romney

November 15, 2012

Over 6,500 Escambia County students, representing 15 schools, cast their votes in a mock election last Tuesday, choosing Barack Obama for president, Bill Nelson for Senate and Jeff Miller for Congress. Students at the three participating North Escambia schools, however, cast more votes for Mitt Romney for president.

“It is exciting to see students participating in the democratic process,” said Escambia County Supervisor of Elections David Stafford. “Teachers and students get an opportunity to study civics in a real life situation and see how their votes stacked up against the voting public.”

The Escambia County Supervisor of Elections Office first partnered with Kids Voting Tampa Bay and Kids Voting USA to provide the mock election for students in grades K-12 for the 2008 presidential election. Kids Voting Tampa Bay and Kids Voting USA are a part of a national non-partisan, non-profit program. They also provide civics curriculum for teachers to educate students about elections, voting, and active citizenship.

The program is provided at no cost to the educational institutions or the elections office. The Escambia County Elections office provided “I voted” stickers to all of the participating schools.

@Bob It is simple. Sorry, but please keep what you wrote. You may want to look up some doctors numbers to put with that for future reference. If all Romney people were to leave the USA the Obama people could not make it without them.

All you paranoid people that think everything about election and teaching is a conspiracy there is help for you. Psychiatrist (A psychiatrist is a physician who specializes in psychiatry. Psychiatrists are authorized to prescribe psychiatric medication, conduct physical examinations, order and interpret laboratory tests, and may order brain imaging studies such as CT/CAT Scan,MRI,and PET scanning just a little information. Also paranoid (A genetic contribution to paranoid traits and a possible genetic link between this personality disorder and schizophrenia exist. Psychosocial theories implicate projection of negative internal feelings and parental modeling). Just saying what you write sounds like to me you need a little help.

This generation and the last, has not been taught about Communism. And, quite a few other things. They are ignorant about much, just like the folks voting in the real “election.” May those who fought and died for this country forgive us. We were not as vigilant as we needed to be.

Not a lie, my 5 yr old granddaughter came home for days talking about how “we” needed to vote for Obama for President. She said that is what her teacher said. She went on and on for a couple of days telling us to vote for him. Made my daughter mad and I explained that the Teachers union was a Obama supporter in the first election so it did not surprise me. Three teachers in family and all are in that category. Funny how my granddaughter could not tell me who Romney even was!.

Looks like they didn’t blame Obama for his wife wanting to take pizza off the lunch menu and have them eat less
