Kevin White Offers Simple Goodbye At Commission Meeting
November 16, 2012
Outgoing District 5 Commissioner Kevin White offered a simple goodbye when prompted Thursday during an Escambia County Commission meeting.
White said:
“I’ve enjoyed serving; I’m glad I had the privilege to serve and thank the citizens for allowing me to…It’s like buying a boat….as happy as you are the day you get it, you are just as happy the day you get rid of it. And this is the same way.”

Maybe someone will answer the phone at the district five office now.
Thank God and Greyhound he’s gone, It been like not even having one not on the north end.
I think Kevin did a good job. I might not had always agreed with him but all in all he did good.
So the new guy gets to see what he can do, and everyone can complain again. The old county commissioners need to move on and we need new ones with better ideas.
So long and Good Riddance!!! At least ONE of our problems solved!
He has a hard job. With the economy not doing well, he did not need to SPEND!!
We need to save. Too many people want a free hand out. The money has to come somewhere, and it is YOUR taxes dollars. Right now, we DO NOT NEED TO SPEND to oblivious. Save, Save, Save. We need to cut back!
I live in molino. Kevin who?????
You’ve got to be kidding me! Commissioner White did alot and served District 5 well. GOOD JOB KEVIN! I’m just sorry he didn’t go for another term. Nay sayers such as yourselves are most likely the reason. It is a thankless job and you should try it yourself if think you can do better.
He knew he was destined to lose, after voting for hard core gaming, he said he could not vote his personal convictions????? is that NOT why we vote for someone who says they nshare our conservitive convictions, then he throughs us under the bus…Follow the money!
A simple goodbye from a simpleton.
Boats not with standing (I’ve had one or two) it’s good to see you going onto what ever. After our last conversation you showed you needed to move on.
Thanks for your service Kevin.
Good luck Mr. Barry.
Very Very well said
Yep, you’re our boat Kevin…
