Escambia Commissioners To Attend State Conference

Escambia County Commissioners will attend the Florida Association of Counties (FAC) Legislative Conference Wednesday through Friday at the Hyatt Regency in Sarasota.
An orientation for newly-elected commissioners, including Steven Barry and Lumon May will be held on Wednesday in conjunction with the Legislative Conference. Participants will be exposed to the powers and duties of a commissioner, ethics and Sunshine Laws and other resources and services available through FAC. The program is designed to provide an overview of the responsibilities of a county commissioner.

Lets see,,,,and after this orientation and this big conference, will these newly elcted officials have a chance at voting on that 4 cent gas tax????,,,heh heh yea right.
Man some people just don’t get it. This is a part time job. I think it’s great that these gentleman even want to do this job. Travel sucks so I’m not sure why” going ttoy conferences” sounds like fun to you. The state overs this I’m sure one time to a largeggroup rather than traveling the state get the same result. Get these boys up to speed and let’s see some changes to our beautiful county.
No wonder everyone wants to work for the government! Stay at the Hyatt Regency and go to orientation? They can’t hold an orientation class here? And guess what…we get to pay for it!!! Talk about government wasting money!
