Dennis Currey

Dennis Currey, 68, of Pensacola, went home to be with the Lord after a lengthy illness.

Dennis was born in Pensacola and graduated from J.M. Tate High School in 1962. He was a member of Plainview Baptist Church. He retired after 42 years from International Paper Company. He enjoyed such hobbies as restoring and attending classic Chevy car shows, fishing, gardening, cruising and spending time at the beach house. However, his favorite activity was to spend his time with his four grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his father, Jesse E. Currey.

Dennis is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Carolyn Cobb Currey; mother, Helen M. Currey; daughter, Lynn (Michael) Sharp; son,Van (Lori) Currey; grandchildren, Tyler and Megan Sharp and Hanna and Grant Currey; brother, David (Debi) Currey; and many other loving family members and friends.

Dennis will be remembered as a loving and devoted husband, father, pawpaw, son and brother.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, November 20, 2012, at Faith Chapel North Funeral Home with Brother Bill Flannigan officiating. Interment will follow at Klondike Baptist Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. until 7  p.m. Monday, November 19, 2012, at Faith Chapel North.
