Cut Cable Leaves Some Walnut Hill Residents Without Phone, Internet
November 21, 2012
A few hundred Frontier Communications customers lost phone and internet service this afternoon due to a cable cut in Walnut Hill. The cable was reportedly cut by a contractor digging for the installation of new utility poles along Arthur Brown Road near Kansas Road. The outage includes areas along Arthur Brown Road, Juniper Street, Cypress Street and Pine Forest Road. Service is expected to be restored by this evening. Dennis, Thanks for putting all those scenarios out there for those who don’t have all the facts as to the circumstances of this damaged cable. (I too, 30+ utility industry)..
Iceman
Having worked for a utility for 40+ years lets just say there are about 8 or 9 different reasons or combination of reasons that could have caused this. Cable never located-no one called the locate number, someone called but it never got located, it was located, but located wrong, located right but someone thought it would be cute to move the little flags-should i continue??????
>>>>Frontier ALWAYS has problems !! I quit my service with them because they had so many problems !!
And how is it Frontier’s fault if a power company contractor digs a hole in the wrong place? This one is not Frontier’s fault.
Frontier ALWAYS has problems !! I quit my service with them because they had so many problems !!
“Aren’t the contractors supposed to check with proper authorities before digging ? ”
yep, but “supposed to” and “do” aren’t always the same, otherwise the jails would be empty and the BP blowout would never have happened
Aren’t the contractors supposed to check with proper authorities before digging ? Just saying.
