Bus Driver Charged With Sex Offenses Against Juvenile

November 6, 2012

A former school bus driver has been arrested for alleged sex offenses against a juvenile.

Lee Calvin Pardue, 43, was charged with use of a computer to solicit a child and lewd/lascivious behavior. He was booked into the Escambia County Jail with bond set at $260,000. He will be transferred to the Santa Rosa County Jail.

Pardue was a school bus driver in Santa Rosa County during the 2011-2012 school year. The Department of Children and Family Services alleged that Pardue made flirtatious comments towards a minor on his bus, and later began to communicate with the minor through text messages and Facebook. The conversations became sexual in nature and nude photographs were exchanged, investigators said. Authorities said Pardue met with the minor on three separate occasions in which the minor was provided alcohol and sexually molested.

Anyone with any further information concerning possible illegal activity committed by Pardue is asked to contact the Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office at (850) 983-1100 or Santa Rosa Crime Stoppers at (850) 437-STOP (7867).

He’ll get a slap on the wrist (1st offense) thats what always happens with these disgusting low lifes! We’ll read about it next week where he plea bargains and has to attend ONE sex offender class, 1 year of probation (which after good behavior for 6 months, that will be dropped too) and then he’s free to do again and again. Good luck Santa Rosa County..there are MANY more of him around every corner! Pray for our children and grandchildren.

I work for a state prison and we had an officer fired because he was caught giving oral pleasures to a male inmate. After he was fired he was hired on to drive a school bus for Santa Rosa County. Several calls were made to the transportation department and we were told that because they didn’t press charges that it was ok for him to drive for elementary school kids.

Santa Rosa does not hire drivers, they sub out their transportation to Laidlaw, which is a huge national company. I’m sure they also vet their employees, it is required by law. But if someone has never been caught doing something bad before what could they find?

    REGARDING:
“Do the county’s not chech out who they hire! or do they just pick their bud’s.”

Don’t know about Santa Rosa, but Escambia fingerprints us, checks our records (if any), drug tests us, monitors us with cameras and GPS. And the parents watch us at all times. And there are up to 64 other witnesses on the bus to our every action.

    David for protecting children

Doublewide, beyond my control I know this person and I know he passed background check. It is sad that someone will do this. Someone who could have had anything that he wanted in life. Yet he chose to be stupid….I could only hope its not true…but it probley is….very sad…I just hope the minor is ok and will not be scared for life over something that could have been avoided and something that NEVER should have happened.

Do the county’s not chech out who they hire! or do they just pick their bud’s.Most places do back ground checks or have a second rider to watch for this stuff. I hope th child will be all right and that no posts bail for him!!!!
