Century Man Dies In Sunday Night Highway 4 Wreck
November 12, 2012
A single vehicle accident west of Century claimed the life of one person Sunday night.
The accident happened just after 9 p.m. on Highway 4 at Canoe Creek, between Bratt and Byrneville. The Florida Highway Patrol said 50-year old Kevin Don Caddick of Century was westbound on Highway 4 when he lost control of his 1998 Dodge Ram in a curve, ran off the south side of the roadway, struck several trees and overturned into a wooded area. Caddick was ejected from the vehicle during the crash.
He was pronounced deceased at the scene. There were no passengers in the vehicle.
The Walnut Hill Station of Escambia Fire Rescue, Escambia County EMS and the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office also responded to the wreck.

Very sorry for the family! That is a very bad curve. I get almost run off the road almost every time I go that way. Just about two months ago there was a red pickup that wrecked there just a few yards from where this accident happened. People who drive this area please stay in your lane so maybe this won’t happen to you. The shoulders of this highway are awful. Please everyone drive careful and make it home safe!

RIP Kevin, I will miss seeing you around. You always had a big ole hug waiting on me when I would run into you, I’m sure going to miss those hugs of yours. Prayers going out to your family at this sorrowful time.
So Sorry. I pray that God will comfort all the family at this time of sorrow.

sorry to here about your loss we will be praying for the family.
Our thoughts & prayers go out to this family who unexpectedly lost their loved one. We did not know Mr. Caddick, but upon reading the story I noticed that we are the same age and it really makes you stop and think about how quickly life can be snatched out from underneath you in a blink of an eye. May God bless your family in your time of sorrow and grief!
We were also very saddened that “no man’s land” has claimed yet another victim. Each time the buses fly through that area alongside the cotton trucks, I hold my breath praying nothing will ever happen to them as I don’t think I could deal with that outcome.
Everybody, please wear your seat belts, slow down and pay close attention when driving between the bridges on Hwy.4. Too many lives have already been lost there!
JoAnn, Kim, K.C, Danny, and Dylan we are thinking of you all. We love you are and we are so sorry for your loss.
You will be greatly missed, and our prayers are with your awesome little boy….man I am so sorry. It is so sad but so true!!!!!!!!! R.I.P. KEVIN
Kevin you will greatly be missed. IOur prayers are with your wonderful son. I don’t ever remember having a neighbor that I even spoke to,but I truley enjoyed having you as a neighbor. I missed you when you moved, but this is worse… SO SAD. YOU WILL NEVER BE FORGOTTEN!!!!!
Horrible crash. Praying for the family. This is SUCH A HORRIBLE curve. At least once a month someone wrecks between the bridges. Don’t know if would help or not, but wish the state, county, whoever would fix the road and widen it.
Sorry for this fellows family and friends. But please give your self a chance when driving— “driver was ejected from vehicle”—please use your seat belt. It’s not a 100 % you will walk away from a wreck, but the odds are better.
Wow, its crazy how one weekend your hangin out hangin out with friends and family, then the next week or so, one of your friends are gone now. You will be missed Kevin
R.I.P
Thank you Carla! My brother was a great man!
Kevin had been a good neighbor and friend. He had a good heart and loved his
son. I pray for strength and peace for his family—-especially his son.
that is so awful, my heart goes out to the family. It is so hard when you lose a loved one but for some reason it seems a little harder around the holidays. Prayers to the family.
Kevin, rest in peace. I can not believed this happened. We love you and miss you!!!!
