UWF Opens Nature Trail After Possible Human Bones Found

October 5, 2012

Florida Department of Law Enforcement and Medical Examiner investigators have left the University of West Florida main campus after completing recovery of the bones found late Thursday afternoon on the mile-long Edward Ball Nature Trail.

“University officials have reopened the trail to normal activity and would like to reassure the campus community that the area is safe. We appreciate everyone’s patience and cooperation,” said Jeff Martin, UWF director of operations.

@wondering— a better chance they could be the remains of a fellow who’s truck was found in the parking lot a while back. He has not been located and it would help his family to know the remains have been found.

Wondering if these bones could bring a parent closure. There is a monument in Pensacola looking out at the Bay that was put up by families that had lost children. They have no closure. Hope this answers some unanswered questions.
