    REGARDING:
    “Then how is it done?”

A monthly survey of households which has been conducted since Roosevelt. They ask if people are employed in the household, if those not employed want to be employed, work their statistical magic on the reports to decide the situation for the country.

    REGARDING:
“After they cut back the length of time for unemployment benefits, I’m sure that makes the numbers look smaller.”

Same as last month: Unemployment figures are not figured from unemployment benefits.
