David Barrow
October 13, 2012
David Barrow, 61, of Pace, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, October 7, 2012, while vacationing in northern Georgia.
David was born on October 9, 1950, in Pensacola. He played trombone in the Pensacola High School Band and graduated in 1968. He graduated from Troy State University and married Linda in 1973. He then began his career as a public school educator, teaching social studies for 35 years at Brownsville, Brentwood, and Ransom Middle Schools. David was enjoying his retirement traveling, camping, fishing, and golfing. He was a genuine and devoted Christian, using his talent to sing praise and play trombone in worship. David was a willing servant of God throughout the years at Immanuel Baptist Church. He loved his family and friends and was always there to lend them a hand, give encouragement, and make them smile. He was a faithful, patient husband and best friend to Linda. He was a devoted father to Bret and Lindy, and loving granddaddy to Mason, who were the greatest joys in his life. He was a caring son to his mother, Jerry.
He was preceded in death by his father Looman Barrow.
David is survived by his wife of 39 years, Linda; son Bret (Amy); daughter Lindy (Joseph) Rosal; grandson Mason Barrow; mother, Geraldine; brother Bill (Lyl); seven nieces and nephews and their families; father-in-law Ray (Jan) Bagley; brother-in-law Victor (Shelly) Bagley; and special brother-in-law Duane Bagley.
Dad taught us by example to enjoy the simple treasures in life. We have been blessed to share life with him and will keep him in our hearts always.
