Baker Defeats Jay

October 20, 2012

The Jay Royals lost to the Baker Gators Friday night, 48-21.

The Gators took a 7-0 lead, but the Royals would soon answer. Quarterback Tate Upton found Hunter Dillashaw for a 65-yard touchdown run for Jay. That tied it up 7-7 through the half.

The Baker Gators (5-3, 1-1) returned the third quarter kickoff all the way for a touchdown. The Gators went on to win  48-21, the third straight Baker win over Jay.

Jay’s other scores of the evening came with touchdown runs of 11 and 44 yards from junior Ricky Cofield. He had 164 yards on 23 carries, making his season total an area-leading 1,084 yards.

The loss almost certainly eliminated the Royals from any hopes of postseason play.

The Jay Royals (3-4, 0-2) will host Graceville next Friday at 7 p.m.

Jay football parents – Living sheltered from the truth and not being able to take a little ribbing along the way will certainly lead to these boys becoming handicapped as adults. I seriously doubt that reading reality in a humorous way on a comment board will mentally scar these players for life. However, so you all can go around in your utopian hug bubble, I’ll leave you all alone with some parting advice – grow some thicker skin.

I have two boys out there on that field playing with the Royals and I am very proud of them and all the other boys out there. It is fun to win ,but we aren’t just gonna give up when we don’t.We have better sportsmanship than that. Those boys work hard and they all are part of a great team on and off the field.Win or lose we wouldn’t make negative comments about your child or their team have more class and don’t do it to ours.Go Royals!! Hold your heads up and keep pushing forward!Your hard work will pay off!

Way to go Royals! Keep your heads held high. Your fans are proud of you guys.

    To Chief’s Fan:
I agree with Royals Football Mom, you shouldn’t put any child down who is out there trying there best. And remember this is high school football!

GOOD GAME ROYALS WAY TO GO.

    TO CHIEF’S FAN:
OBVIOUSLY YOU MUST NOT BE A PARENT. ANY “REAL PARENT” KNOWS TO PICK UP A CHILD’S SPIRITS NOT BRING THEM DOWN (ANY CHILD NOT JUST YOUR OWN). THE ROYALS PLAYED A GOOD GAME, AND WE ARE VERY PROUD OF THEM.

P.S. SO KEEP YOU NEGATIVE COMMENTS TO THE TEAM IN THE “COW PASTURE” , AND LEAVE OURS ALONE.

Jay’s district record is 0-2 and as the saying goes, “0-2. Stay at home and bar-b-que.”
