James Devoter Arrington

Mr. James Devoter Arrington, Jr., age 60 of Flomaton, passed away at his home on Friday, September 7, 2012.

Mr. Arrington was a native of Century, but was a lifetime resident of Flomaton where he was a member of the 1970 graduating class of Flomaton High School, the football team and a member of Flomaton First Baptist Church. Mr. Arrington was a veteran of the United States Army having been stationed in Germany and serving there during the Vietnam War. Mr. Arrington loved to garden.

He is survived by his parents, James and Margaret Stallworth Arrington, Sr. of Flomaton; brother, William (Irma) Arrington of Flomaton; sister, Gail (Keith) Stokes of Pensacola; three nieces, four great nieces and one great nephew; aunts, uncles and cousins.

Graveside services will be held for Mr. Arrington on Sunday, September 9, 2012, at 3 p.m. at Flomaton Cemetery with Rev. Freddy Stallworth officiating.

    I knew Jimmy back when we were all kids. He was very well liked and such a nice guy. So very sorry to hear that he had troubles later on in life. May he now rest in peace.

    I knew Jim in the late 50s/early 60s. I remember him as “Twinkle toes”. Sorry to hear of his death. He was a special person.

    our prayers to your family in the loss of your son…our children grow older but they will always be our babies….may God’s love cover you and give you peace in knowing that Jim is at peace with The Lord now…and will suffer no more the worries of this world…
