@ not you, I agree! It could of been avoided! And to victims sister, Brandi will be OK, she has a fight ahead of her, but they put her the coma so her body would relax. Prayers are going to get answered and Jesus will be watching over all three of us!

@girl in the wreck: Running a red light is negligence not an accident.

I really hope she is alright. If she was on phone for whatever reason I hope court throws the book at her.

The wreck happened so fast! An accident is an accident, I agree I would be in pain and missing my car, if it wasn’t for her running a light. Although they don’t show what my car looked like, it was a mind boggle to see the car and realize we survived that! It’s sad to see people not paying attention on the road!

Just a few days ago, there was an accident at highway 97 and highway 29. Half of the comments were about the need for a traffic light at the intersection. Here we have an accident at an intersection controlled by a traffic light. The only thing that will keep inattentive people safe is putting everybody in a military tank and lowing all speed limits to 5 miles an hour.
“Mark” must live on 9 1/2 Mile Rd as the light stays green for highway 29 FOREVER, and turns green for 9 1/2 Mile Rd long enough for about 3 cars to get through the intersection.

my sister was in the pontiac g6 she is ok minor lacerations to her head & ear she has staples & stitches. her passenger brandi is in stable condition as well at sacred as for the other people not really sure but people should seriously learn to obey the lights that is what they are put there for!!!

Always blame the officials in charge, never the idiots whom drive all over the road while txt, lol, omg. i’m so good at this i will never have a accident and kill some one else. I see my parents run stop signs and red lights and they have never had any problems. Maybe one day Fl. will follow suit and ban txt while you are behind a dangerous piece of equipment.

People need to learn to drive! They need to realize when driving they are controlling a lethal weapon!

Trick Scott, not a misspelling, has reduced a nukber of things…speaking of enforcement…did you know that the ECSO has a “traffic division”…they write the occasional ticket here and there but there biggest responsibility is escorting funerals…while this is the South and we still pay respect to the family and stop or moe to the right of way…is this really necessary…the ECSO has a contingent of auxillary memebrs and while some perform this service, shouldn’t the on-duty traffic division be patrolling neighborhoods and such for speeders and moronic drivers…I have heard it said that speed bumps and traffic control devices are a sign of a weak law enforcement presence or is that the number of shootings and stabbings and violent crime…I dunno…

  14. Abe on September 7th, 2012 7:21 am

Rick Scott has reduced the number of State Troopers to dangerous levels and they cannot inforce traffic laws due to their low numbers. Traffic laws have become mere suggestions. Speeding has increased to the point that anyone that is driving the speed limit is looked at as, and has become, a driving hazard.

To the folks who keep clamoring for a traffic light at the intersection of routes 29 & 97, did the traffic light help here? The only true answer is more vigilant drivers who are not distracted by cell phones, etc.

  16. lawson on September 7th, 2012 6:24 am

    Marcus: Good advice. Thanks.

  17. Mark on September 7th, 2012 6:10 am

They put that light there not to long ago to prevent this. Seems all it has done is add 10 minutes to our commute.

  18. Marcus on September 6th, 2012 10:28 pm

Aww man I hope everyone is allright!

Its not worth speeding or running a red light. Don’t rush either…. if you late, your late! Suck it up. Take the write up or verbal blasting, apologize and wake up earlier next time. Drive easy, be aware. Life it too precious. Just coast, enjoy the breeze, stay off the phone or whatever electronic device has you consumed, turn the radio lower, listen and look around. I’m sure your eyes will appreciate the break.

Slow life down a bit! Enjoy life seeshh!
