One Shot Overnight In Escambia County

August 20, 2012

An early Monday morning  drug related shooting in Escambia County is under investigation.

The Escambia County Sheriff’s Office was alerted by a local hospital about an adult male gunshot victim about 3 a.m. The victim, 34-year old Ernest Lamar Finklea of Pensacola, told deputies that the shooting happened about 10 minutes earlier at the intersection of Texar Drive and Tarragona Street.

Deputies found a crime scene at that location and canvassed the neighborhood. Neighborhood witnesses reported hearing a disturbance and later shots coming from the area. The victim, who was transported to the hospital by a passerby, sustained a non-life threatening injury to his arm.

The shooting appears to be drug related, according to the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office at (850) 436-9620 or Crime Stoppers at (850) 433-STOP.

It is surely not the economy that is driving this insane behavior. It is simply a group of people that infest our cities large and small that have found that peddling drugs is a lot easier than work.. You can spot them a mile away. People who dont have jobs do not drive these kind of automobiles with tires and rims that cost in excess of five thousand dollars.

Apparently this is the new normal for around here. And your dad is right, nothing good ever happens when you’re out that late. But bad things happen when you’re at home too. You’re foolish if you don’t have some form of protection with you at all times. This problem will be getting worse within the next 12 months as the economy sinks even deeper. We still haven’t gotten out of the recession so you can count on it. I still laugh at obama’s summer of recovery too. We lost more jobs during the “recovery” than was lost when the recession first hit. Just make sure your aim is good.

It’s like my dad would tell me growing up and having a midnight curfew, “nothing good happens after midnight.” You have drunks riding around, drug deals going on, predators prowling, and yeah a few good people just trying to get somewhere for the night but all the rest greatly outweigh the good people still out and about.

Well, if all the evil people kill all the evil people, we will have just one evil person left…….And surely he will have a change of heart then……

I just know that all my friends and acquaintances do not go around shooting each other, even if we are up at 3 in the morning.
