Thank you Susan, I couldn’t have said it better.

The term “act of God” is written that way in law, so it really does not matter if your neighbor is an athiest or not. Move cars, boats, RV’s etc away from the trees and hopefully it will not be so bad for you. I’ve had to do that too, but I do like the looks of his trees when I don’t have a storm coming.

After all my planning, and taking care of my property, it still boils down to my neighbors trees, looming over my meager hovel. This has gone on since Erin in 1995, and has cost me thousands of dollars. One of the neighbors, who I really believe is an athiest, “tried” to explain the event as an “act of God.”

If we are spared the wind… we will certainly not be spared the rain… and with the soil pretty saturated from the weeks of rain, we will deffinately have a bunch of flooding… Be carefull out there!

I hope we all make it through this safely. I’d also like to take this time to encourage everyone to help your neighbors prepare, especially the elderly and special needs families. If you’re finished preparing, there may be some others who could use your help. If anyone knows of someone needing help, please let us know. I for one will go out of my way to do so. May God be with us all.

I’m super glad it is not making landfall in Pensacola or Mobile. I only hope people in New Orleans are smart enough this time to get out, or find higher ground. I would, walk if I had to, bicycle, hitch hike, something.

So sad that it looks like it’s heading straight to New Orleans. I pray they will be ok.
