Where can I find out when we can return to Pensacola Beach?
>>What about mail? Will it run tomorrow?
Rain, sleet, snow or Isaac — so far there have been no changes or closures announced related to Isaac.
What about mail? Will it run tomorrow?
>>Will the running water be secured? If so, what time?
No. ECUA changed their mind on previous plans to cut water to Pensacola Beach and Perdido Key.
Water and sewer WILL NOT be interrupted.
Will the running water be secured? If so, what time?
Wow, our technology is so great that everyone’s complaining about it. People, you should know BEFORE a storm is approaching which zone you live in. It’s called bereadyescamibia for a reason, which obviously some of us aren’t.
I did some work on trees in my yard late last week while the storm was still south of Hispanola. I have a nice 20′ x 7′ stack of tree limbs, small branches, etc in my front yard. City of Pensacola decides to suspend pickup of yard trash until Wednesday. Nice to know that I try to be a responsible home owner and the city can’t be bothered with making an early run to pick up debris BEFORE the storm to help minimize damage.
I use Google Chrome and I could not get anything of the map to load but then I went to Explorer and it did bring up the site after a long time but where the map should be it is blank. I am sure the site is being “hit” a lot this morning. I’m curious about the zones because I work downtown.
I should have been more specific. The area on the mainland side of the bridge (along Sorrento off Perdido Bay) is supposedly subject to the mandatory evac
>>Are there travel restrictions with the “mandatory evacuation” . e.g. If you leave the area would you not be permitted to return
If a bridge is closed due to wind (Sheriff announced 45mph), you will not be allowed across a bridge. So that could keep you from returning to some areas.
The Pensacola VA Clinic is closed Tuesday and Wednesday.
Are there travel restrictions with the “mandatory evacuation” . e.g. If you leave the area would you not be permitted to return
Thanks William 4 all the updates. Your awesome
The link seems to be working now
Thanks for posting the link to the map, Ducky. Not because I don’t know my zone, but because I’m not sure of the zones of the friends I will be helping out!
>>To everyone complaining about the site not working, did it ever cross anyones mind that it could be down due to every citizen in town trying to use it? There are probably thousands
And that is what emergency planning people should have anticipated. NorthEscambia.com can handle tens of thousands of people *per second* loading the site, and I bet we do it for way less money than was spent on a county emergency site that does not work.
To everyone complaining about the site not working, did it ever cross anyones mind that it could be down due to every citizen in town trying to use it? There are probably thousands trying to find out what zones they’re in all at the same time. I wish some people wouldn’t be so rude, calling Pensacola a fail and clueless incompetent people working around here. These people are trying their best for the most part.

It would be great if someone could actually POST A MAP Of what ZONES ARE A B AND C..
Come on guys… Even Be Ready isn’t working properly
Are the offices of the Dept of Community Corrections in Escambia county (Pensacola) open this morning?
The worry about one web site being down, “Still working fire capt” is that Escambia County chose to issue evacuation orders by zones. If a resident does not know their letter zone, they don’t know if they are under an evacuation. The only way the county has provided to get your evacuation zone information is the one website that has been down.
William we appreciate what you do for our community and keeping us up to date on news and events that happen. I am concerned though that people are worrying about one web site being down. What has happened to watching your local news or looking at more than one web site for information.
I think James is referring to BeReadyEscambia in his post below. I don’t think he’s talking about NorthEscambia.com.
This website sucks, I’ve been trying to find out what the zones are all evening and nothing but a screen with nothing on it. You would think that this site would be the best site out there due to the experience Pensacola has with storms.
I was using beready all afternoon and it seemed to be working fine. sometimes a little slow loading the interractive map but i think that is traffic related. Thanks for the info!
LOL@Escambia County…Emergency pops up and their website is STILL down. Even after all the money that has been given to them by the Feds to make things right, Escambia County Florida is one big huge fat FAIL. If this hurricane gets anywhere near us and people are hurt because timely and critical information could not be had, you best bet there will be hell to pay. Corrupt, incompetent and clueless…welcome to Pensacola! It’s no wonder that the average American has zero faith in their local, state and federal elected officials and government.
David don’t be a smart butt….there is Alabama news on here too.
Is it a mandatory evac??
Baldwin County schools closed Monday through Wednesday!
County officials tell me their IT staff is working to get BeReadyEscambia.com running again.
Yep, BeReadyEscambia apparently needs a little more time…..
Does that include George Stone Vocational as well?
REGARDING:
“Can you clarify that this is Escambia County, FL not AL, correct?”
From the top:
NorthEscambia.com
News for Molino, Bratt, Walnut Hill
McDavid, Century & Cantonment
William has already specified unless otherwise stated, he’s reporting Florida.
I wouldn’t be surprised if Alabama didn’t do likewise, though.
>>Can you clarify that this is Escambia County, FL not AL, correct?
Unless were say Escambia, Ala. in any story, it is always Florida.
(Escambia, Ala. is not putting out anything yet other than just monitor the storm.)

>>>Beready link appears to be down
The county’s emergency site does appear to be down. I can’t load it either.
