One Injured In Rollover Crash Near Cantonment Post Office

One person was seriously injured in a single vehicle rollover accident early Tuesday morning on Highway 29 near the Cantonment Post Office.
A male, about 26 years old, lost control of his vehicle which flipped into a ditch and came to rest upside down. The man was briefly trapped in his vehicle following the 2 a.m. crash. He was extricated in just a few minutes and transported by Escambia County EMS to Sacred Heart Hospital.
The accident remains under investigation by the Florida Highway Patrol. The Ensley and Cantonment stations of Escambia Fire Rescue and the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office also responded to the early morning crash.

@rick, there is a car crash in the US like one every 7 seconds or so. you do the math and it’s expected that any populated county will have at least one accident in a day.
perhaps you’re saying this because this news site publishes a lot of stories related to crashes, which makes it look like there are an abundance of crashes happening. but that’s just a form of selection bias. nothing wrong with it though, i wish stations near where i lived has this type of coverage!

Many drivers drive Hwy 29 distracted. Cell phones, texting, eating, putting on makeup, reading (yes reading!) or just paying more attention to whomever they are talking to in the car and not enough to their driving. I see it every day. I’m frankly surprised that we don’t have more serious crashes with rollovers than we do.
Does a day ever go by without a single-car accident (and usually a roll-over) in north escambia county??
